New Business sounds Sweet

On Saturday, April 4, The Sweeterie will be opening its oven doors and then opening its front doors to the public.

Susan Woodard-Knabb is the purveyor of Mariemont's new pastry parlor and will be hosting an Open House so the public can get a taste of what The Sweeterie will be serving up.

The Sweeterie will be specializing in decorative cupcakes, cutout cookies and high-end seasonal candies.

Woodard-Knabb has been in the pastry business for over 15 years and is excited to have her bakery located in the village of Mariemont.

"I grew up in Mariemont, my grandparents bought a house here in the 1950s. I went to high school in Mariemont. I have always been fond of the area," Woodard-Knabb said.

Patrons will be able to order decorative cupcakes and cookies for a variety of events, from baby showers and weddings to birthdays. The Sweeterie will also be baking specialty items for the various seasons and holidays.

For example, the open house on April 4 will see the bakery getting prepped for the Easter holiday. Samples will be available for visitors and items will be for sale as will the opportunity to put in an Easter order.

The Sweeteries' soft hours at present for walk-in business are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday beginning April 17. Call-in hours, where patrons can put in their orders for their special occassions, will be Wednesday thru Saturday.

The open house will begin at 10 a.m. For more information, call The Sweeterie at 271-7444.
